Ask an Expert - Forum > Dimpled Letterpress Paper Recommendations

Hi, I'm looking for letterpress paper with an irregularly dimpled surface. I'd like the paper to be 100% cotton and around 100 pounds. Does anyone have any suggestions? We currently use Crane Lettra 100# paper which we like but doesn't have the surface texture that we want for this job. Thanks!

Hi Julia, A few years ago Mohawk introduced a letterpress paper called Strathmore Pure Cotton.

They intentionally created a paper like no-other having an irregular surface and formation. The surface texture is greater than Lettra, but it's not going to have those deep peaks and valleys in the texture like a coldpress watercolor paper. Are you looking for extreme texture like a watercolor paper?
