Around the spring equinox I started connecting my Stonehenge art paper to Stonehenge, and got to wondering why you named your paper Stonehenge. Any story there?
Back in 1970, Legion's co-founder, Michael Ginsburg, wanted to produce a paper in the US on a high-speed paper machine that was going to be as close to the best European printmaking papers as possible. The only way to achieve this was to convince the mill to slow down their machine so we would get a nice tight formation and a semi-smooth surface. We also had to get the mill to set up their deckle jets so we could get 2 deckles. The paper originally was going to be used for all printmaking techniques including Stone lithography, which inspired the name Stonehenge
