I am looking for coldpress sized paper suitable for acrylics with enough tooth for layerings with soft pastels. I'm not using fixative and customarily frame with a gutter, assuming some migration with the pastel overlay. What papers would you recommend? Are there any options-coldpress or otherwise?
We have Saunders Waterford that comes in a CP option and Lanaquarelle which also does too. Both the Saunders and Lana papers have sufficient surface sizing light or heavy applications.
We also have two other papers that are ideal for this application, Stonehenge Printmaking and Stonehenge Aqua.
Stonehenge Aqua, the watercolor option of Stonehenge Printmaking has the characteristics of a printmaking paper but can also handle heavy acrylic washes without buckling or warping.
