Ask an Expert - Forum > which paper is best for pen drawings?

I would like to test out some papers to figure out which is best for a future project. I work with Copic and Sakura pens, and the paper will be mildly saturated. Here is an example of one of my recent pieces that is similar to the future piece. http://instagram.com/p/pIGlJQl9g4/

please let me know which papers I should order to sample that would be best for this project. Thank You.

Hi Maria,

We have thousands of papers on hand so we'll need a little more information:

What paper(s) are you currently using?
What type of surface do you prefer - smooth or textured?
Do you prefer a watercolor paper that is heavily sized? Or a printmaking paper that is softly sized?

Because you're using a wet media process, I'd think you'd want a watercolor paper with good sizing, but better to check with you first.

Let's start there and we can narrow it down for you.
