Hi. I had just noticed that at some grocery stores, the cashier would write or circle the amount of money saved on my receipt...without using a pen or pencil but rather with just their finger tip. What kind of paper is that receipt written on called? Seemed to me that these are carbon paper without the multilayers. Please clarify. Thank you.

Those are thermal papers. Like the paper used in the old fax machines.
