Ask an Expert - Forum > Wild 850gsm Paper Question

Branding my personal graphic design company, KOHLOSSAL. That being said, I want the thickest textured paper I can find to create business cards. My plan is to stamp my logo and information on the card, but dont want the ink to bleed. So my question is... Will dye based ink or pigment based ink, or both bleed on this paper? The reason I ask is because the paper is 35% cotton. Also, any recommendations on other papers that would work?

Thank you for your response.

Hi Jacob, It sounds like you want to print your business cards using an inkjet paper. The Wild paper is not coated with an inkjet receptive coating, so the inks will most likely bleed. However, it's always best to test yourself using your printer as the results may work given your tools. Happy to send you a sample to try. Send us your address to info[at]legionpaper[dot]com

Not printing, I want to use a pigment base stamp.

Ah, OK. You'll need to test to make sure it works for you.

Are there any thick papers you for sure know that will accept pigment based inks? I am looking for the thickest paper possible that accepts pigment inks.

As we are only the paper suppliers we do not know all the ink characteristics and how they might interact with various papers. You'll just have to run your own tests. We have a 'thick letterpress sampler' that we can send to you containing about 15-20 different thick papers.
