I have been working with Fabriano Murillo paper to first gesso then use for oil painting. The size is 27.5x39 and was purchased very long ago. What would you suggest for purchase ? It needs to be stiff and would probably be medium heavy to heavy.
If you're looking for a similar weight paper we would suggest looking at the Stonehenge Aqua HP 300gsm and 575gsm, Coventry Rag 335gsm and Stonehenge 330gsm
The Stonehenge Aqua is sized for watercolor and will hold up well to a gesso treatment.
Both the Stonehenge 330g and Coventry papers are dimensionally stable and will not buckle. Both are 100% cotton and have been used for screenprinting for decades and in some cases have handled over 100 colors without buckling.
