It's been a struggle to figure out if recyclable paper gift bags are recyclable with cotton fabric handles on them. Is the cotton a contaminate for paper recycling processes? Any insights would be very much appreciated!
Hi Matthew - Although paper and cotton fibers can be pulped to (re)produce paper, you'll need to check with local recycling facilities how they handle this. If multiple fibers are incorporated into paper then it's usually labeled as 'mixed.' The cotton linters sourced for our 100% cotton papers do not contain any PCW or cellulose/wood fibers.
