Ask an Expert - Forum > Stonehenge White v. Acrylics?

How suitable is Stonehenge White for creating paintings with acrylics? Would a surface prep be needed? What is the weight of Stonehenge White?

Stonehenge is an excellent paper for acrylics. Just be careful about painting too heavy as the paper will buckle a bit with heavier loads of paint. Another great option for acrylics is the Stonehenge Aqua HP, which is sized for wet media and will withstand greater paint loads.

A third option is our new Stonehenge Oil. Although designed for oil paints, it works well with acrylics. It had a bit more surface texture than the Stonehenge and Stonehenge Aqua papers.

Stonehenge White is available in 250gsm and 320gsm
